Do you ever feel like you are under so much pressure that you might just crack?! You are not alone! Students have a lot of demands on their time and energy; students have to juggle school, work, family, and friends and it can be very stressful!
There is often so much on your plate that it can feel like you don’t have time to take care of yourself. But research has shown that student well-being is vitally linked to academic success (El Ansair and Stock, 2010; Keyes et al., 2012) and therefore making your own wellness a priority can help you be a better student. At VIU, we care about student well-being and we want to help you make wellness a priority in your life!
Thrive CCR Credit is VIU’s way of acknowledging all the things you do to help keep yourself well! If you successfully complete the requirements, you will receive official credit on your Co-Curricular Record.

- All activities/event hours must be gained from activities connected to VIU
- You can cannot claim hours for activities/events which you are already getting academic credit, or another CCR credit for (i.e. you cannot claim course work as a Thrive credit hour)
After completing your hours, you will submit them for approval using VIU’s Co-Curricular Record (CCR) app. You will need to complete a few short reflection questions as part of the submission process. On the app you can easily see a schedule of all the events happening around VIU that contribute to wellness and you can easily track your participation and submit your hours for approval. The CCR app can be accessed from your mobile device or from any computer. VIU's Campus Events Page is another great way to see what great events are happening around campus.
