Location
The Writing Centre is located on VIU's main campus, on the 4th floor of the library (Building 305, Room 474).
Hours
We are generally open weekdays year-round, with reduced staffing in summer. To see a tutor without an appointment, you can drop in between 11am and 1pm, Monday to Friday.
Accessibility
You can get to the Writing Centre in two ways:
- Take the central stairs to the 4th floor (the next one up from the library's main floor); turn left and walk through the stacks to the common area; the Writing Centre is on your left.
- Take the elevator (adjacent to the service desk on the main floor of the library) to the 4th floor; as you exit the elevator, the Writing Centre is directly across the common area.

Online
If you are a VIU distance student, you can consult a tutor via online appointment (either by uploading a paper, called "etutoring," or by video chat). Please note that not all of our tutors offer online services.
