Program Overview

Canada Summer Jobs is an initiative of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labor market. • Funding: Up to 50% of the provincial or territorial minimum hourly wage for private and public sector employers; up to 100% for nonprofit organizations.
• Duration: Summer jobs must be between 6 and 16 weeks in duration.

• Application Deadline: Usually by the end of January or early February.
• Notification of Decision: Employers can expect to be notified about the status of their applications by April.
• Project Start Date: Funded projects can begin starting April, with the latest start date usually in May.

Approval Process
